![]() Our mission is to educate the public on the importance of spaying/neutering pets to avoid pet overpopulation, and find a warm, safe place for every adoptable dog or cat to call their forever home. Strictly foster based, our volunteers provide food, shelter, care, and compassion to our furry friends until they find a loving home. Treasured Friends is a no-kill, non-profit animal rescue group dedicated to care and placement of abandoned/unwanted pets. Through our partnership with Treasured Friends Animal Rescue and Adoption, the Town of Griffith can offer a sustainable no-kill animal control center with minimal impact to the town’s financial resources. The Griffith Animal Control is staffed by Animal Warden Sandi Litke, two part-time aides, and a host of extremely dedicated volunteers facilitated through a partnership with Treasured Friends Animal Rescue and Adoption. This duty is accomplished through the enforcement of applicable state laws and town ordinances that govern the care and treatment of domesticated animals, as well as the general sheltering and care for all abandoned, lost, or other at needs cats and dogs of Griffith.
